Duncan began his career in 1979 following a five year course in Graphic Design and Business Communication.  He then moved on to hold senior design positions at both Clarkes Shoes and the Michael Peters Group plc.  During this period he also spent time as a part time lecturer for the BA Graphics students at Canterbury School of Art and Design.  He ran his own London based consultancy for ten years where his clients included NatWest Bank plc, Consumers’ Association, Hamleys, Sage Group plc, Norwich Union, Serco Group plc, Education Extra and Avon Cosmetics.

His work has been accepted on several occasions for the Designers and Art Directors Club of Great Britain and included nominations for Silver Awards.  His corporate identity work led to nominations for the BBC Design Awards, the CSD Minerva Awards and won the Communicators in Business award for the best of class Annual Report.
